Wrinkle Reduction in Aurora

Wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process, and their development is influenced by factors such as genetics, sun exposure, smoking, and repetitive facial movements. While it's not possible to completely prevent wrinkles, several treatments and interventions can help minimize their appearance and promote smoother, more youthful-looking skin.

Topical Treatments

Retinoids promote collagen production and enhance skin cell turnover. Antioxidants like vitamin C and E protect from oxidative stress. Peptides may stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture.

Injectable Treatments

Botulinum toxin (Botox, Xeomin) temporarily relaxes facial muscles, softening movement lines. Dermal fillers add volume where lines sit at rest. Collagen-stimulating fillers (calcium hydroxylapatite, such as Radiesse) prompt the skin to build collagen gradually over time.

Laser Resurfacing

Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing treats a fraction of the skin at a time, removing damaged surface layers and prompting new collagen. Microneedling makes tiny, controlled micro-injuries that start the same repair process, often called collagen induction therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can sunscreen help reduce wrinkles?

Sunscreen protects against UV rays, which speed up skin aging and wrinkle formation. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is one of the simplest ways to limit sun damage and help slow new sun-related wrinkles, and it protects the results of any in-clinic treatment.

How do medical-grade skincare products help with wrinkles?

Medical-grade products contain active ingredients such as retinoids, vitamin C and peptides at concentrations chosen for clinical use. They can stimulate collagen and improve texture over time, and our physician-led team recommends products that suit your skin.

What's the difference between botulinum toxin (Botox) and fillers for wrinkles?

Botulinum toxin relaxes the muscles that cause movement lines, such as frown lines and crow's feet. Fillers add volume to soften lines that are present at rest. They work differently and are often used together.

At what age should I start wrinkle treatments?

Prevention can start in your mid-20s with good skincare and daily sunscreen. Some people begin preventive botulinum toxin (Botox) in their late 20s or early 30s. Our physician-led team can advise on timing at a consultation.
