PRP for Men: Prepared From Your Own Blood
Starting at $900
PRP for men is a treatment that uses platelet-rich plasma, prepared from a small sample of your own blood, for men’s intimate health. After numbing, the PRP is injected into specific areas of penile tissue. At Thrive! in Aurora, Ontario, it begins with a confidential, physician-led assessment, and results vary.
Start With the Whole Picture
Changes in erections, sensation or confidence are common, and most men put off mentioning them. Those changes are often your body’s check-engine light. The arteries that supply the penis are smaller than the heart’s arteries, so changes in blood vessel, heart or metabolic health can show up there first, sometimes years before heart symptoms. Hormones, sleep, stress and medications can play a part too.
That’s why we don’t start with a needle. We start with a confidential, physician-led assessment, often including blood work, so nothing important is missed. From there, PRP is one option your physician may discuss.

About This Treatment
PRP is prepared from a small sample of your own blood, spun to concentrate the platelets. It uses your body’s own healing factors, and because it comes from you, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low. Bruising, swelling or tenderness can occur, and your physician reviews the risks with you.
Platelets are the body’s first responders: when tissue is injured, they arrive early and release growth factors involved in repair. For men’s intimate health, the concentrated PRP is injected into specific areas of penile tissue after numbing. Research on PRP for erectile function is still early and results are mixed, so your physician walks you through what is and is not known before you decide.
Using PRP for men’s intimate health is an off-label use: it falls outside the uses the PRP preparation system is licensed for by Health Canada. Your physician explains what that means for you at your consultation, along with the evidence, the risks and your other options.
Also called: men’s intimate PRP, PRP for men’s health, platelet-rich plasma for men’s sexual health

Got Questions?
It is a treatment in which platelet-rich plasma (PRP), prepared from a small sample of your own blood, is injected into specific areas of penile tissue after numbing. PRP concentrates the platelets that carry the body’s own healing factors. At Thrive! in Aurora, it is offered after a confidential, physician-led assessment, and results vary.
Research is still early and the results are mixed. Some placebo-controlled trials found improvement in erectile function scores, while others found no difference from placebo, and larger, longer trials are needed. Your physician explains what is and is not known, and the other options available, before you decide whether PRP fits your plan.
Erection changes can be an early signal of blood vessel, heart or metabolic health, and hormones, sleep and medications can play a part too. Like a check-engine light, the symptom tells us to look under the hood. A physician-led assessment, often with blood work, makes sure nothing important is missed before any treatment is discussed.
Comfort is planned for. A topical numbing cream and, where needed, a local anesthetic are used first, and the injections take about 20 to 30 minutes. The aim is for you to feel pressure rather than pain. Mild tenderness, swelling or bruising can occur afterward, and your physician reviews aftercare with you.
PRP may not suit men with a blood clotting or platelet disorder, an active infection in the area, or certain cancers or cancer treatments, and blood thinners are reviewed first. Because PRP comes from your own blood, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low, though bruising, swelling or tenderness can occur. Your physician reviews all of this with you.
