Platelet-Rich Plasma: Your Body's Own Healing Power

Starting at $695 · Exact pricing at consultation

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy uses growth factors concentrated from your own blood. It is used to support skin quality, to support the scalp in early hair thinning, and alongside other treatments as part of a personalized plan. Results vary.

At Thrive! MedAesthetics, PRP is used on its own or combined with microneedling and other procedures as part of a personalized plan.

About This Treatment

What Is PRP Therapy?

PRP starts with a simple blood draw. Your blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, the cells that carry growth factors involved in tissue repair. The concentrated plasma is then injected or applied to the treatment area, where those growth factors are thought to support collagen production and the skin's own repair processes. Because it comes from you, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low.

Also known as: PRP, platelet-rich plasma, PRP facial, PRP for hair loss, PRP skin rejuvenation, blood plasma treatment, PRP injections, growth factor therapy

The Process

How Does It Work?

1

Blood Draw

A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to a routine blood test.

2

Processing

Your blood is placed in a centrifuge, which separates and concentrates the platelet-rich plasma.

3

Preparation

The treatment area is cleansed. Numbing cream is optional for increased comfort.

4

Application

PRP is injected into the skin or applied topically in conjunction with microneedling, depending on the treatment plan.

5

Results

Improvements develop gradually over a series of 3-6 sessions as collagen regeneration occurs.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Can PRP help with hair loss?

Clinical studies suggest PRP can help some people with early-stage thinning and pattern hair loss by stimulating hair follicles. A series of 3 to 4 sessions is typically recommended, and your physician explains what the evidence does and does not show. Results vary.

What is a PRP facial?

A PRP facial combines microneedling with platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood, applied through the tiny channels microneedling creates. Microneedling can also be paired with Procell, a separate growth-factor serum. Our physician-led team helps you choose the option that suits your skin.

What are the risks of PRP?

PRP is prepared from a small sample of your own blood, so it uses your body's own healing factors, and because it comes from you, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low. Bruising, swelling or tenderness can occur, and your physician reviews the risks with you.

How many PRP treatments do I need?

A series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is typically recommended. Maintenance treatments every 6-12 months help sustain results.

When will I see results?

For skin, changes develop over 3 to 6 months. For hair, changes are usually assessed after 3 to 4 months. Results vary.
